Updates regarding COVID-19

STAAR Testing

All STAAR testing for the 2019-2020 school year has been cancelled.

SAT /ACT Testing

The following was taken straight from college board:

Right now, public health officials have made clear it is not safe to gather students in one place. Many states have closed school for the rest of the academic year, and globally there are widespread school closures across 192 countries. As such, we will not be able to administer the SAT and SAT Subject Tests as planned on June 6, 2020.

Students will have opportunities to take the SAT to make up for this spring’s lost administrations. If it’s safe from a public health standpoint, we will provide weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration in September and the previously scheduled tests on August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5.

Students will be able to register for these administrations beginning in May. We’ll communicate directly with students when the exact date is available. Eligible students will be able to take the exam with a fee waiver. Students who were registered for June and those in the high school class of 2021 who do not have SAT scores will have early access to registration for the August, September, and October administrations.

See the collegeboard.org or the act.org websites for registration information.

In the meantime, students can go to khanacademy.org/sat to watch SAT videos, participate in lessons, take practice tests, and link PSAT scores to get tailored plans.

Students who were previously enrolled in dual credit have now been registered for the Fall 2020.

New students to the dual credit program are in the process of being registered if you are exempt due to your PSAT scores.  Those students still needing TSI testing have been turned into Lonestar to set up online TSI testing.  You should hear from Lonestar within a week.

Updated 4/1/2020
Lonestar is currently working on possibly offering the TSI as an online option for testing.  If this is offered, students that have registered at Lonestar & filled out all paperwork prior to Spring Break, will be allowed to test.  Remember to keep checking back for updates.  If you fulfilled the above requirements, make sure you have signed up on Remind.  Text 81010 @aakkkb

TSI testing scheduled for March 20th has been cancelled.  Lonestar College Dual Credit Personnel are meeting in the next few weeks to determine a plan moving forward.  As more information is received, updates will be posted here.
