Lone Finalist for Superintendent

During their meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the Board of Calvin Nelms Charter Schools unanimously selected Mrs. Mindy Peper, current principal of Calvin Nelms Charter High School, as the lone finalist for the position of Superintendent. Peper has served the district with distinction, demonstrating strong leadership, a commitment to student success, and a deep understanding of the school community.

Her selection follows the retirement announcement by current Superintendent Michael Dean, who will retire on June 30, 2026, after years of dedicated service to the district. Dean’s leadership has guided Calvin Nelms Charter Schools through significant growth and continued academic achievement. Peper will enter a state‑mandated waiting period before the Board of Directors will  take final action on her appointment. Calvin Nelms Charter Schools looks forward to continued progress and a smooth leadership transition.
