Caniff, Hannah

Hi! I'm Hannah Caniff.

Ms. Caniff

My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a warm, caring educational community where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Every year, this type of atmosphere, where students can meet their full potential, is created in my classroom. I provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.  My goal is to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in the children as well. My classroom thrives on the love, warmth, and laughter that is present every day.

I currently teach 10th & 11th grade U.S. and World History, and I am the History department chair, Student Council co-sponsor, and help with creating the yearbook.

I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University. I received my B.S. in Criminal Justice.  After graduating, I realized that my passion was teaching, so I decided to get my teaching certificate. After receiving my certificate, I started work as a 6th grade Reading teacher in Katy in 2014. I worked for Katy ISD for 2 years before I realized that the big districts just weren't for me! I transferred to Waller in 2016. In Waller, I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading/Writing.

I have two children- a 7 year old and a 10 year old. We live in Waller, and they both attend an elementary school there.

Please feel free to email me at any time. My email is [email protected].  I try to respond within 2-3 hours (unless it's after 9!).
