Below is a syllabus of assignments for the Spring 2020 semester following Spring Break.

Week of March 16-20 - THEME BASKET

AVAILABLE IN TEAMS: Continue working on Theme Basket assignment from before Spring Break.  Assignment information can be found on Teams page.  Previously the plan was to have students perform a presentation of their Theme Basket in class; however, due to the change in circumstances I am altering this assignment.  Students need to create a presentation of their Theme Basket through PowerPoint, Google Slides or Prezi and email/share with me by Friday, March 20th at midnight.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me anytime via email at jlowrance@cnchs.net or call me during school hours at 281-398-8031 ext.129

Week of March 23-27 - WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ART?
ALL LESSONS AVAILABLE IN TEAMS: Read and analyze the short story "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. 
Respond to writing prompt questions.
View and evaluate the short film 2081.
Compare and contrast the short story and short film.
Research Assignment on Wednesday, due on Monday, March 30th by midnight.

PLEASE COMPLETE ALL ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE 6 WEEKS. Progress Reports/Report Cards potentially to go home next week.

Available in TEAMS:  Evaluate four persuasive writing prompts and create a position (thesis) statement for each prompt with clear reasoning to support position.
